Our Story
Meet Jari, a Finnish-Canadian carpenter with sauna in his DNA. Coming from a long line of carpenters, he was practically born with a hammer and saw in his hands. Starting when he was only 11 years old, he honed his woodwork skills under the guidance of his father and grandfather, building traditional Finnish saunas in every house they or any of their family members lived in.
Mix grew up in Cape Town and has spent the last decade living in the great North, immersing herself in its sauna culture. Both Mix and Jari have always been in awe of the cultural, spiritual, physical, and emotional richness of sauna bathing.
It wasn’t until a recent trip to Finland to meet Jari’s new nephew before moving back to Cape Town that Mix and Jari were inspired to bring sauna culture along with its incredible health benefits to Cape Town.
Now, Jari and Mix proudly unveil ShuShu, derived from the Xhosa word for ‘hot,’ symbolising their shared dedication to health, wellness, and community. Join them in experiencing the unmatched therapeutic bliss of Nordic sauna bathing in Cape Town.
